Victorian Red Oak Hardwood Revival
Victorian Red Oak Hardwood Revival
Welcome to an exquisite interior hardwood floor refinishing project. This heritage restoration focused on century-old original Victorian red oak floors that had been hidden under carpet for decades. Situated in Toronto's historic Beaches neighborhood, this project represents our commitment to preserving architectural history.
Project Overview
The primary objective was pulling up multiple layers of 1970s carpet and linoleum to reveal the original hardwood. The goals included repairing massive pet stains, lacing in vintage salvaged oak to replace rotted sections, and finding the perfect amber-toned stain to match the home’s original 1910 aesthetic.

Key Features:
- Dustless Floor Sanding System
- Vintage Wood Sourcing & Weaving
- Custom Amber Stain Matching
- High-Traffic Satin Polyurethane
- Baseboard and Shoe Molding Install
Project Goals and Objectives:
To provide a highly functional modern living space while maintaining historic charm, we utilized a state-of-the-art dustless sanding system to protect the home’s heritage plaster walls. We applied a commercial-grade, water-based satin polyurethane that is highly scratch-resistant but maintains the soft glow of traditional wax.

Functionality
By focusing on these goals and objectives, we aim to deliver a restoration project that not only meets the client's immediate needs but also provides a solid foundation for their long-term enjoyment, safety, and investment value. Our commitment is to create a space that seamlessly integrates form and function.
